Oi Mãe!
Things are going well down here! It´s been a bit hotter these last few days, but a lot of wind as always! This week went well! We were able to talk with a lot of people and teach good lessons. We have a couple of really good families that we are teaching. We´re working a lot with these families to get them married and always helping them with their doubts and questions. Did you not get the pictures that I sent last week? I sent 5 or 6 pictures! Let me know! I don´t think I´ll be able to get a picture with santa this year. We don´t have any place that we can get this picture. Our skype call will be around 4 or 5 local time. So around 11 or noon there for you. Is Renee there as well? Or just Conner? Glad that you were able to go to Nicole´s wedding! And I was unaware that Don and Shari moved to Idaho... When did they move?
Things are going all well here. Learning lots as always! We are working a lot here to always find new investigators to have a lot of people to visit. That way when someone doesn't want to progress, we already have someone to take their place. And we are always setting baptismal dates with everyone! It´s one way that we have to see if the person will progress or not. But this week will be a bit tough in terms of missionary work. Everyone will be traveling or with family. So this week will be a bit slow, but we are going to do our best to be our best even when it´s tough.
Hope all the preparations are going well for Christmas and the New Year!
See you in a few short days!
Have a great week and stay safe!
Love,
Elder Cole Gunnoe

Mom,
I don´t know what time I will be able to Skype. I´m not sure if the mission will be establishing a certain time to skype or not. But will probably be around 4 or 5 pm local time. Around noon there at home. But I´ll confirm next monday.
The new area is great! It´s a pretty packed with houses and people. Since it´s the capital, the whole city is pretty packed with stores and all that kind of stuff. It´s an area that has a little bit of the extremes. People very rich and also very poor. But it´s a really good area to work in! We are working really hard to teach a lot of people and mark baptismal dates with everyone we meet. So far, it´s going really well! São Luís is basically an island. My area is a good distance from any beach, so I don´t see the ocean. But I sure do feel the wind that come from the ocean! It helps a lot! I feel like it´s a little more humid here. It´s supposed to be the start of the rainy season this time of the year, but so far, no rain. Hopefully it comes soon! I haven´t memorized the address yet. But we live in an apartment complex, so you would only see the gate from the streetview. I am still a Zone Leader here with a lot bigger of a zone (26 missionaries)! My companion is Elder Gouvea from Sorocaba, São Paulo. He is a great missionary and I am learning a lot with him! He stayed in the area when I came in. This is his 4th transfer here. The city is very developed, but unfortunately a bit unclean. I haven´t gotten my christmas box yet. But I believe it´s in the mission office. And I won´t be able to get it until the new year. We will have a leadership meeting probably in the last week of December or the first week of January.
I am really glad to hear that the elders are teaching a family of 8 people! Hopefully they can continue working with that family to get them baptized! Please send me the email address of Joan! I am so glad and surprised at the same time that she is being taught! That´s so great!! And I am so glad that I was able to be part of what helped her accept the message of the restored gospel! I would love to send her an email and ask how she is doing and maybe help her with her doubts!
It would be good if the emails are just a little bit shorter. They don´t have to be a lot shorter, but just a little. I have some recent converts that I am writing as well and helping them stay active and some other stuff that we do.
I am so glad that I am able to be a part of the Restoration of the Gospel here on the earth. I hope that we can all make good use of this Christmas season and use all of our strength to preach the Gospel to all that we encounter because this is the best time of the year! People are always more open and willing in this Christmas season. And above all, we carry a message that teaches nothing more than the Gospel of Jesus Christ! They truly are Glad Tidings of Great Joy! As we share the Gospel with those that we love most, the Lord will bless not only the lives of those we accept, but also those who share this message. Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He loves us and because of this love, He gave his own life so that we could live once more.
Love you!

Have a great week and stay out of trouble!

Mom,
I don´t have much time to respond to emails. So I have to keep it short and sweet. Don´t think it´s because I am writing more to other people or don´t worry about you. I am just so busy and have so many things to do in the 1 hour that I have on the computer.
I am glad to hear that all is well with everyone there at home! Must have been a good week with Conner and Renee there at home! I know it was really busy and passed quickly, but at least they were able to be there to celebrate with you!
The trip to Teresina went well! We left here on Friday at 0700 and got there at about 2330. The bus was a bit slow and made a lot of prolonged stops. But the meeting on Saturday went really well! It was from 9-12 with Elder Campos (70). It was a really good meeting full of the Spirit and lots of learning! Then on Saturday at 1700 we left Teresina and got here at 0615 (3 hours early!). We were supposed to get here at 0900 on sunday, but this bus was a lot faster and made fewer stops, so we got here early. The better part of yesterday was spent really tired and almost sleeping in meetings and planning sessions. But we made it through and now have a tiny bit of time to rest today. Not really any time though because we have to prepare the zone meeting for tomorrow morning. Life as a ZL is really busy! But I am learning a lot and hope to continue learning. Transfers are this next monday! So we´ll see what happens!
Unfortunately I am out of time.
I did not get the package! I think it will be getting here this week and I will ask President Melo to bring it here when he comes for the zone christmas activity! So hopefully I´ll still get it in time!
Have a great week and good luck with the doc appointment!
Love you so much!!

Mom,
Because of the very limited time that I have to write emails now, I will just write in english for the time being to save time.
Things are going well down here! This week was very busy! I had to go to another city on Tuesday to work with another missionary there and his comp came to Imperatriz and stayed with my comp. Then on Thursday I went to another area to work with a different missionary. So it was a really busy week for me and my comp. We weren´t able to work as much as we would have liked to in our area, but we were able to help other missionaries. I never imagined that being a Zone Leader was so busy! It´s quite common for us to do more for other missionaries than for ourselves. This week we will be traveling to Teresina for a Leadership meeting. We´ll be there from Friday until Sunday. (getting back here sunday night probably) So we will lose a few days of work here in our area. I am both excited and nervous for the meeting in Teresina. There will be one of the Seventy there to train us and will be interviewing each one of us..... Not sure how I feel about that yet. But I know I will learn a lot and will have a renewed desire to be better than before. Not a whole lot to report on this week.
Things are going well and I am doing great!
I hope that all is well there at home! Hope your recovery is going smoothly and that your foot is getting better! It will be nice to have Conner and Renne there for Thanksgiving! Have they got any Christmas plans yet? I know that we are already planning what we´ll be doing on Christmas day! I am excited for Christmas and hope that I am able to stay here this next transfer! Pretty soon things will be already to have baptisms every week! We had to start everything fresh here. So until now we haven´t been able to baptize. But we are almost there! Will be taking more pictures this week to send. I forgot my camera at home today so none today.
Gotta run! Time sure flys by these days!
Have a great week and stay out of trouble!
Love you!

Aqui é quase igual a Teresina.
A área aqui é bem pequena.

Mom.
Everything is going well! This week was a little hard for me, but in the end, much improved!
I left Teresina this thirtieth day of October and arrived the same day.
I was in Teresina until the meeting and then came to the Imperatriz.
Elder De Jesus is Santa Catarina in southern Brazil.
He is an excellent companion! He works very hard and I'm learning a lot from him!
It is only a house with  two floors. Not very big, but the house is good!
We always have food. That's one thing that never fails.
I will write this week and have something next week!
This is almost equal to Teresina. Maybe a little cooler.
The work is going well. We had to start from scratch.
We could not find people who have left the other elders, then start all over again.
The area here is very small. Too many people, but it is small.
Time has run and I have to do many other things!
All is well with me and I am very happy here!
 have a good week !
I love you!

PONDERIZAR!

Boa semana para todos!

Translation...

How is everybody? Things are going well here in Imperatriz. VERY run but is doing well. I had to travel on Tuesday and Wednesday to visit a couple of missionaries who needed to get some training. I went to Balsas Maranhão which is six hours by bus from here. I teach and instruct the elders there at about the things that have been passed in the area of meeting the week before. It was good to help them and learn more. Then me and my companion (Elder De Jesus) had chasing all researchers that the other elders had left us. But unfortunately I could not talk to most of these people. So we did our best to find new people to teach. Just we are finding very good people and families! Commitments have marked these people this week and we'll chase a few more people to visit. We made some assessments of the things we do and say and set some goals to improve it. We feel that the Lord is testing our faith and want to see what we'll do. We talked with our bishop here about it and he said some things that we needed to hear.
I will use the little time I have to report an experience I had last Sunday.
As a goal at the beginning of my mission, I decided I would not speak English when he was not entirely necessary. And so, only talked twice before. (At Christmas last year and Mother's Day in May) People who served missions speaking another language as well should know roughly how. After all this time, almost forgot to speak English. I can understand and write and read. But to speak it is very difficult. And last Sunday, had a man in the church who realized it was not from here. During the meetings of the church, it was said to me that he is American and he was because he's dating a woman Imperatriz ward. Between Sunday school classes, the bishop asked me to help me to interview and get to know the man after meetings. I was very nervous because I had to translate an interview and speak much English. Before entering the room with the man and the bishop, I stopped to do a little prayer for help to Heavenly Father that I could be able to speak clearly for this man. By starting the interview, the bishop asked to translate his words and so translate the man's response as well. When the bishop began, I looked at the man and began to speak English perfectly. During the entire interview I tripped only once or twice. I could hear Portuguese, translated into English, and then speak English. Then I heard in English, translated into Portuguese and then spoke in Portuguese. It was something incredible! and to leave the room, I could not speak more NADA English. Surely the LORD helped me to do what was necessary and nothing more. It was really amazing to see the power of God as fully going for me. And through this interview, the bishop could feel that this man was a good man. It was very cool!
Now I have to run and do MANY other things.
I hope everyone has a great week and can feel the love of our Heavenly Father.

Translation.....

So folks! Last week I did not send email to anyone because I was paying a little more literal service with my companion. We have two new converts who moved last Monday. And we volunteer to help with the move, seeing that it was a block to the other and that they are a small family. The two moves were made for about 6 persons. We took everything from one house to the other block on foot.  Sofas, beds, refrigerator, stove, tables, wardrobes, everything! It was kind of tiring. And the other move was with a truck from the old house to the new home. But the new home was on the second floor. And the stairs to climb was VERY poorly done! For me it was necessary to bow twice to climb the stairs. And for me it meant go really low! (Because I am a bit tall) And it was even more difficult with the furniture weight! So I left there a little tired! But it was very rewarding to help two humble families to move and see the gratitude that they had for the services provided! Very good! So that's why I did not send an email last week! It was for a good reason I guess!
These two weeks have been good. A little slow with respect to work, but good! Unfortunately we had no baptisms ... We have very good people! But they are not yet to the point of baptism. But soon will be! I'm glad these people have accepted and heard us. I hope they will continue to grow and learn more! But unfortunately I will not be here to see this growth. Because I received an email today I did not expect to come so soon. I received an email informing me that from now on I will be a zone leader. I'm coming back to “Imperatriz” (Empress), where I stayed three weeks without a determined calling. But now I'm going back there to stay! And now I will be able to work for real! It will be good to work with a missionary who is more focused on his purpose and have more desire to serve wholeheartedly. Unfortunately I got lost a bit with regard to work in those weeks. But it's never too late! And that's why there is repentance! Now I will devote myself to the work of the Lord and do better than I have done so far! Besides the fact that I do not feel prepared for this new calling, I trust my Mission President and in the Lord. And I will continue to trust them! I know the Lord does not call the qualified, but He empowers the ones he calls! "I'll go where you want me to be" Let's see what happens! It will be interesting!
But overall, I'm fine! I hope all is well with everyone there who are enjoying the cold! Because here it is very Hot!
Not much time this week, so that's it for now. I'll have more news next week!
I expect a good week for everyone! And remember that the Lord is all-powerful! And that He loves us perfectly! I know because I see His trust and love more than ever!

With love,
Elder Cole Gunnoe

Elder Cole Gunnoe

Translation....

Mom,
The conference was really good!
The name of the man who is baptized Jonata Melo dos Santos. He was baptized on 3 October 2015 and confirmed on 11 October, 2015. He liked the conference and is very happy!
The house is a little different now, but it's the same. But we are trying to move.  I hope it happens soon. Already found a new home, but we are waiting authorization of the mission to rent soon! But when we change, we'll send the new address!
I know it will be a while before you send the next box. But there's no problem! I was thinking that the next would be just for Christmas. I was interviewed by President Melo on Wednesday and received the cash on the same day! So already have a box at home! Thank you very very much!! I really enjoyed everything It had inside! My companion was also happy! Everything arrived without being too destroyed. The only thing that was difficult was the chocolate. Everything melted. But I put in the freezer and it's still pretty yummy! I will find a way to make one of the cakes and was thinking of giving the other to the sisters in my district. Still not sure, but I was thinking about it. We will see! But anyway, I'm very happy with everything in the box! And very happy with the chili peppers! I really miss it! I had forgotten how good is Tapatío!
Unfortunately we do not celebrate Halloween here. It seems that perhaps there are places in the country that there are parties, but it is not something very common.
I'm happy knowing that Craig and Laura went to the Temple! It seems they are very happy together! It will be very good for Luke to have a father in the home and a father who loves him so much! Craig is a good man and I wish all happiness for them! Luke is a boy so cute and cool !!! I miss him !!! And it's funny that he likes that father so much!
Why father went to the doctor?? Is he is fine?? I hope that your visit to the doctor is doing well and that your recovery is still good!
Our lesson in the quorum was also about this topic! I enjoyed the lesson and I will study more during the week! President Benson gives lots of good advice and many ideas of how to lead as the Savior! There are many things in that chapter that can help me a lot!
As you said, it is not always easy, but it is worth it! Something I have learned throughout life and mission is that the night is always darkest just before dawn. Whenever things are getting worse, we're getting closer to the time that it will improve. If we trust in the Lord and in His time, we will have more happiness and peace within our conscience.
I hope all is well there and everyone is happy!
Have a good week and always remember to put the Lord first!

With love,

Elder Cole Gunnoe

Ainda tenho lentes demais!

Mom,
This last conference was one of the best that I can remember! We had so many powerful and inspiring speeches. I was also sad to see President Monson so weak and with difficulties. It was difficult for me. In addition, his speech was very good! I liked so many speeches that I think I cannot choose my favorite one. I liked it a lot! I'll download the speeches that liked to study more over the course of time. I really enjoyed the speech he talked about the Hiawatha! Was very good! I think it was Vern P. Stanfill if I remember right. Also liked the Kim B. Clark speech! It was nice to see him speaking at general conference! I could feel the Spirit testifying to me that the new members of the Quorum of the Twelve really are men chosen by God! I felt that these were the men that God needs at this time. Was very good! I attended the conference in Portuguese. I think they don’t show it in English here. We watched it at the “Horto Stake.” All stake’s wards go there to watch the conference. It was a little scary. Here the members are not used to attend all conference sessions. Most of them watch only one or two sessions. It's something a little sad to see that some people do not give the proper importance to the conference. But I watched every session and really enjoyed it! We watched the priesthood session at the stake center from 9 to 11 pm. And we got a ride back home. It was a very good session!
The baptism took place between Saturday sessions. But unfortunately I did not have my camera with me, so I did not take photos. But the man who baptized have the pictures! I'll have photos of it later. And next week, I'll send!
It is good that Conner and Renee managed to attend two sessions at the conference center! It's really cool there!
I am very happy knowing that will have two baptisms there !!! It will be great to complete two families! Then, it will depend largely on the members if these men will stay or not. They will need a lot of help and support. If they receive a calling soon, it will be very good! Also take them to the temple soon to perform baptisms !!!! This is something essential! It can make all the difference to them! As new members, they need home teachers soon, a responsibility, and to be nourished by the good word (Preach My Gospel). Three essential things to remain strong in the gospel.
I still have lots of lenses! I opened a new big box on the first day of the month and  I got another big Box. I have over 24 pairs of lenses. That's enough. My shoes are going well! I use almost only Ecco because the other one creates a bubble in my foot every time I use for a while ... But I still use it from time to time. But both are doing well. The address of the house is
Leonildes R. Alves, 831-943 Teresina - PI, 64078-279
It is the white house on the corner with a bag of trash on the floor.
I would like things to make S'mores !! Not a lot, but enough to do and remember it! Also, I do not know ... at our home ... Something to camp. The one thing missing is clothing for the cold. Things needed in winter camping. Also wanted things to climb (harness, shoes etc.). I was searching for a new backpack before leaving, but this is something a little more for when I'm there to test and everything. Just some ideas. But I will be happy with anything!
They are very good! I really like them both! It's a bit sad that I could not know them a little more, but that is the way. I was happy to know that Sister Kerr liked the endowment session. It really was something very special! I hope that when they come back home, they can continue helping so many people to make the sacred temple ordinances! I know the Lord is very happy with them and is preparing another man and a woman called to direct the work of Redlands Temple!
They had many animals that day then! It must be very nice to see so many in so little time! Even some new ones! But if the Papa is still the same, he was not happy with the moose drinking his water ... hahaha
I do not recognize any of the names ... you can leave it there for later.
I'm happy knowing that your foot recovering well! I know it will be slow and perhaps hard for you, but it will be worth it then!
I have no photos this week but I will send next week! I promise you!
Have a good week and all the happiness that you deserve! (That's a lot!)
I love you!!

Sinto muita falta do templo...
Boa semana!!!

Com amor,
Elder Cole Gunnoe

Mom,
This week also passed very quickly. Before I knew it was Friday! And it was very good because we had another baptism !! It was just one person, but even so I was very happy to see her baptized. I had the honor to baptize and confirm her as a member of the Church. Her name is Ramonielle. We have been teaching her for almost two months and she was in church every Sunday. She never missed a Sunday. She spent a lot of time learning from a friend of hers who is a returned missionary and he taught her many things and answered many questions for her. But this friend of hers helped a lot in the process! And after the baptismal interview, she decided to be baptized this last Saturday! We had a lot of joy seeing her to be baptized and make a sacred covenant with our Heavenly Father! And now she is even more happy and excited to continue growing and learning! (I'll send some pictures of the baptism later) was a very good way to end the week! Aside from that, our week was normal. We still have few people to teach, but I hope that this week we were able to meet new people. We are wanting a lot of help from members here and they are willing to help. But I do not want to call members to divisions with so few people to visit. I'm still having a little trouble with my companion, but its better than before. There are many things I need to do differently so that our work is better and more effective. There is much to do here yet and many people to find and help. This weekend will be the General Conference and I am very excited for it! Also we will have another baptism! Looks like the baptism will happen in between sessions here! We are excited for it! But it will be a challenge then to find more people like to teach and help.

I know you do not like to sit still at home. But it has to be done. Use this time to do productive things! As you said, family history! There's always something else to do or person to find. With this surgery, you will not even be able to go to the temple on Fridays? I hope you can still go! I miss the temple ... I'll go right after I get home!
It seems that the Elders are having much success there in the branch! I am very happy knowing that they are having baptisms more frequently and are also helping people get back to church! Perhaps the branch will finally become a ward! It would be so great!
I hope all is well with everyone there and you are all happy! Have a nice week!!!

With love,
Elder Cole Gunnoe

Mom,

No one was transferred. We both stayed here for one more!
President Melo has no trouble with you coming to pick me up! You can come!
My favorite colors? I do not know. Blue and green. Why?

You do not need to send boxes as large as for my birthday. That box was very large and very expensive to send ... No need to have a lot of things like that because I know it's too expensive for you. Thank you very much for the packages that always send! But do not send such big ones that you spend all your money. I worry. I went up that tree to pick some guavas! Then we made a juice to drink! Was good!
It was great to attend the wedding and baptism of the couple. It was a privilege!
It is having some fires here recently. But it's just people burning fields or brush. Nothing dangerous. But sometimes I get allergies. Recently its been better! I don't have many problems.
I'm happy knowing that the surgery was good and you are now feeling better! I know for now it is going to be a bit miserable and difficult, but soon you will be much better and you will be happier! I would like to see the photos taken during surgery! It should be pretty cool! Take great care and do everything that the doctors says! She knows what needs to be done!
Conner told me that the first was good for him and that is really enjoying it! I believe he will be able to do school and work. He learned a lot in the mission on how to use time wisely. It will be good!
This week was a bit difficult. We haven't done much, unfortunately. This is something that I am planning to talk to my companion about to see what needs to be done so this week is better. He is still difficult to work with sometimes, but I'm always striving to be more patient with him and myself. Gradually improving. Seeing that we haven't done many things this week, we have not had many spiritual experiences. But we had a day that I sat with a man and talked a little about the Church and about the Book of Mormon. We had a very long and nice chat. When I was explaining to him about the book's story, I could feel the Spirit testifying to me about the truth of the book and its teachings. It was a great moment for me to be able to feel the confirmation of the truthfulness again!
I hope all is well there and you continue recovering well from surgery! Have a good week!
I love you!!!!

Good morning mom!

This week was good! It was very busy and we could not do much work in our area, but it was a very good week still! We had a wedding on Friday! It was very very good! We had a lot of people there! It was a very special moment! It also had a ton food! They had a barbecue and had vinaigrette and salad and manioc flour and rice! Very good food! Unfortunately we had to leave because of how late it was. The wedding started at 8pm and it took a while. We left just after we had eaten a bit. It was very cool to help Leonardo and Amanda to marry and take this important step in their lives! And then on Saturday, we had their baptism! Leonardo and Amanda were baptized on 13 September 2015! I'll send some pictures after the wedding and baptism. Other than that, I don't have much to tell about this week. As I said, it was a little slow, but it was good! It was great to finish this transfer with a wedding and baptism! I am very excited for this transfer is going to happen. I can start over again and do better this time! I do not know if I will stay here or what will happen. I'll know tonight. Then I will tell you next week what happened!
The Hanson family is ALWAYS growing! Always! But that's good! It's a great family!
Conner is living where now? I do not remember if I said this or not. But it seems that these other guys need to get a real life! Just getting the apartment doing nothing will not help them! They need to go out there and make something of life! At least they managed to help Conner get into the apartment and everything.
It's great that the Conner's boss is willing to be more flexible with him! This will help a lot! Was it getting cold there in Rexburg? Or not yet? These days are only getting hotter! While there it is getting cooler, here is getting hotter! I wanted to ask a favor! Could you make a record of the temperature and wind chill for me? Just to see how many degrees it is! I know these days are hot! So there are a lot of things burning around here so the smoke gets in front of the sun. Helps a little at least.
My converts are fine. Some better than others, but they are good! We are visiting them to help them to continue in the church and learn more. I pray that they can always have the same desire that had to be baptized.
In addition to the Tapatio, wanted one more cake if possible! I could not do it for my birthday, so I kept it. And a sister in the ward had a birthday last week. So we made a family night at her house and made the cake for her. Only we had many members there and they all ate cake. I took a piece but I gave it to a convert so she could try it. So I didn't get cake ... Only the frosting was left :) So if you could send a cake would be great! Aside from that, I can not think of anything else. But I keep thinking!
You better fix your foot soon! I know you do not like it much, but it will be so much better afterwards! It will be easier for us to walk! I will pray a lot for it to all work out!
So I will write a few e-mails and send some pictures. I hope you have a good week and that all is well with you! I love you!!!!

Bom dia família!
Estou bem!
Quase terminando?

Good morning family!
I am fine! I am sitting here at the Internet café sending this email to you! This week was a bit better! Now we're getting a little more solid at work! And this week will be even better!
Miss all those people !!! Brett is the boyfriend of Brittany? I do not remember him. How's it going at Russ' house? Almost finished? I do not remember where the store is there. But I must have seen it at some point! I hope it continues raining there to put out the fires! With three wards attending the same chapel, should be enough to build a new chapel! I'll read that way after I finish this time! I think it will be much faster! I'm happy knowing that Papa is better! I was very worried! Why will you perhaps have to change her knee again? Because of the accident? That must be why. Both are GREAT !!! Either one works!
This week we found a new guy who is very good! He went to church and it seems like he liked it a lot! We will visit him today! Besides him, we could not find other new people this week. This has been a challenge for us here. And so it will be a little more our focus now! Because that's how we can teach and baptize more! This week will have a wedding and maybe three baptisms! We will certainly have two. The third depends on the woman. But I think it will work! She has been to church five or six times! Just missing our teaching and then JUST BAPTISM !!
I hope everything else is okay and that the weather is getting cooler! Because here, it's getting much warmer! Much more!
Have a good week! Love you all!!

Família,

Glad to hear that the trip went well and without problems! Did you guys make the trip in one day?? Did you stay the night in Rexburg? Glad to hear that also got to see some old friends! It´s always nice to see people again after some time. Is that the hardware store that is close to the drive-in theater? And why doesn´t he try for something closer there in Rexburg? Rigby is a little ways out of the way. Glad to hear that he´s going after a good job! That will be quite essential! Seems like every year they are having a lot of fires around there! That´s not so good for the residents in those areas. Hopefully the firefighters are able to get them under control soon! We had stake conference as well here in Brasil. I don´t think the chapel is quite that big here, but it´s still a good size! Where is that stake center? I remember that there in Rathdrum was just a normal chapel. Sounds like there were a lot of people there then! With such a large area full of people! Maybe the stake there will be able to divide soon! That would be good! The stake here is close to dividing as well. Before the end of the year, we just need 3 baptisms and 6 less actives reactivated for this ward to be qualified as well. The only hard part is that these 9 people need to be men and tithe payers. So it´s a bit tougher, but we can do it! I am almost in 3 Nephi right now in my reading. I´ve taken way too long to read so little. I am going to do my best to be much better and reading a lot more! The challenge that the stake president there gave to the members is a good one! I´m sure nana and papa appreciate the help! They have a lot to do and are the only ones there to do it! So I´m sure they´ll take whatever help they can get! How is papa doing since he fell a while back? Hope he is all better! This week was nothing too exciting. We had a zone conference on Thursday with the mission president! It was pretty good. He talked a lot about how we can be better at teaching less but more effectively. We practiced some things and it was good. Other than that, nothing special this week. We didn´t have a baptism this week, but we are planning on having one this Saturday! It depends on the schedule of this week. But we´ll do what we can so that it happens! I did get nana´s card! I received it on Thursday at the zone conference. And I got 3 more letters from you. Other than that, not a whole lot to share this week. Just another normal week!
Be sure that Conner makes it to Hudson´s and Dick´s too! Make sure to eat 2 or 3 burgers for me too! Hope that all goes well with the rest of the trip and that you all have a good time together! Stay out of trouble and have fun! Eat for me too! Don´t forget!
Love you all!!!!

This past week was a good week! We had little work and it was slow. But we did what was necessary to have another baptism! We baptize a girl named Hiolanda (pronounced Yolanda). She is the cousin of the girl who we baptized last week. The baptism was very good! I had the privilege of baptizing the girl on Saturday. Was very good! I am very grateful to Heavenly Father for the privilege I have to help some of His children to know the Gospel and make a covenant with God. It's really something very interesting. Heavenly Father could do this work himself if he wanted to. But He loves us so much that He gives us the blessing to be part of that work. It gives the opportunity for us to receive even more blessings than he usually gives us. Through this work, we can experience a joy that is unparalleled. I believe that the only joy that is greater is the joy we feel in our families.
So often, Heavenly Father can do things alone, but He leaves us to do his part too. And when we do missionary work, we can feel more happiness and peace. When we do what God asks of us, he is BOUND to give us the blessings promised. Let us put the words of the Lord to the test and do missionary work everywhere! If we do so, we will have a better life!
I hope everything else is okay and that everyone has a good week!

Agora tenho três novas sisters no meu distrito.

Mom,
This week was the week of transfers and unfortunately Elder M. Silva left. He went to Tianguá in Ceara. And my new companion comes from Açailândia in Maranhão. His name is Elder Tavares and he is originally from Volta Redonda in Rio de Janeiro. He has been out on the mission for 7 months. I'm excited for a new transfer here in the Poti area, but it will not be any easier. I really have to push myself to make sure it all works out between us. Let's see what will happen.
I still need to ask for pictures from one of the sisters of the baptism on Sunday. I will ask this week! Members never give anything too strange to us to eat. It's still normal food. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten was panelada. It is a soup of bull stomach. It was a very strong food and I did not like it so much. Maybe just because it was the way it was prepared. But beyond that, all food is normal. Every day is rice and beans. If you have nothing else, you at least have rice and beans. I now have three new sisters in my district. I know two of them already, but the other I do not know yet. I will meet her in the morning in the area of meeting! And the package and many letters are waiting for me there too! So the package has arrived! You can relax. Have a safe trip back home! And give a hug to dad when you get there! He'll be very happy when you guys get home.

Love you mom!!

Mom,
I am happy to know that the letter finally arrived! It takes a long time !! Your letters arrive here in about three weeks or so. Not so long! Maybe I will receive the package the week after next if I am in the office. We will have the zone meeting next week and LZs always takes letters and packages there. Unless I go by the office this week. I have not even asked permission to go there. But next week, I'll talk to the LZ. Because today and tomorrow morning is the transfer, then it is still possible that I go on to another area. I'll find out today! Don't worry! You can also send it to Brad Graham and Matthew from BYU-Idaho and ask them to translate for you! Only it depends on them. We had three baptisms this week! One on Saturday and two on Sunday after meetings in the church. Saturday was a man named Orlando Dos Santos Oliveira. And on Sunday it was Marcia Victoria Borges Pimentel Pessoa and Isadora Maria Gomes Pimentel. They are cousins. It was very good! Elder M. Silva baptized Orlando and I baptized Victoria and Isadora. It was very cool !!! I have to ask for photos of the second baptism from a sister. I did not have my camera with me on Sunday. But I will send photos of Orlando's baptism and a few more pictures. Every day we have lunch with a member. From time to time we have dinner with someone, but it's hard. Usually we do something at home. As district leader its good! It is not that difficult with the sisters. Only four, so not so much work. President Melo is very good! But no better or worse than President Siedschlag. They are good in their own way. I trust that Conner will be able to meet his temple attendance goal! It will be very close there in Rexburg! There will be no excuse! I hope you get to see everyone there in Michigan when they are in better health. Not sure I'll see Aunt Helen or Aunt Jean in this life again. But that's why our Heavenly Father, in His infinite love, created a plan so that we can see our loved ones again! And in that place, they will be much better! I hope the trip will go well and everything works out! I will pray that the Lord protects you and Conner and father as well.
Have a good week and have a good trip!!!
I love you!
